Sandra from “The Goodness Glow” joined the VeganTourGuide Podcast recently and told us the great journey for her to a Plantbased – Vegan life. Sandra had a big life changing moment in 2013 and it was from this moment that she made the switch. Sandra not only made the switch for herself, she has now committed herself via her website and FB and IG to spreading the knowledge and information to others. Sandra believes in making sure people focus on good health and even reminds us that “Our Health is our Greatest Wealth!”
Sandra reminds us that we have to put “goodness IN and ON our bodies” and then we will begin to glow. We have to utilize the natural and tremendous health benefits of whole food plants putting them IN our bodies and then we watch the rest of our life and how we work out, meditate, etc as to what we put ON ourselves to truly reach our maximum self. She discusses her daily gratitude practice (I love this, I’ve been practicing gratitudes first thing in the morning and last thing before I fall asleep). She also discusses her Reiki practice and even how she felt the change in her energy when she went to a Plantbased – Vegan life.
Sandra gives great insight as to some of her favorites, such as: Overnight Oats, Smoothies, Berries and then great ingredients like: Spirulina, Spinach, Kale, Flax See and Chia Seed to round out some of her top choices. She stresses “Nutrient Dense” whole foods and reminds us: “If it comes FROM the Earth, then eat it, if it doesn’t then question it” meaning that if it’s processed, then always do your best to opt for something that comes straight from the dirt to your plate. I always like to say: “If you’re looking at the ingredients on the box of some food you are contemplating eating and some of the words would win this years international spelling bee…..I’d pass on eating this food.
However, one food I would NOT pass on is her Pineapple Guacamole! Check out this easy to make recipe:
- 2 ripe avocados
- Juice of 1/2 a lime
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1-1 1/2 cup chopped pineapple
- 1 small red onion
- 1 garlic clove
1. Mash avocados
2. Add in juice of lime, sea salt
3. Chop pineapple, garlic and onion to small pieces (I use a slap chop) and add to your guac
